Application of anchor clamps for cable installation

When laying overhead power lines between residential buildings, industrial complexes, and administrative buildings, self-supporting insulated wires are most often used for fastening, which uses anchor clamps.

The main purpose that the anchor clamps for mounting the self-supporting insulated wires have is the reliable installation of the wires when they are tensioned between the supports of the transmission lines. Such clamps allow you to quickly install cable lines between supports, poles, structures on which the transmission lines are mounted. There are several types of clamps that differ in design features and purposes. The most common anchor clamp is H20 manufactured by Infoland, which is designed for fastening self-supporting insulated wires with an insulated zero carrier core, as well as a Z3A clamp, designed for fastening four wires at once. In addition, it should be noted that the anchor clamp H20 is used not only for fastening, but also for tensioning the wires.

Such devices are used at the start and endpoints of power lines. In addition, they are used in places where overhead lines sharply turn or there is a sharp difference in height between the supports. In such cases, their use is due to the need to reliably fix the wires at points of a sharp change in the direction of the route.

Another purpose of anchor clamps is to prevent the wires from being suspended by gravity, wind, and icing. Anchor clamp ZA 25x100 is made in such a way as not to damage the insulation of the wires during their fastening and tension. In many ways, this stage is the most critical in the installation of such lines.

Particular attention in the design and manufacture of clamps is given to the applied structural materials. In many respects, the high requirements for the clamp materials are due to the fact that these devices must be outdoors for a long time, be exposed to the environment (UV rays, snow, rain, high and low temperatures, etc.), but they should not be subject to corrosion and do not lose their properties. The most common materials in the production are plastic, galvanized steel, aluminum alloys. Such structural materials make it possible to make products resistant to temperature extremes, ultraviolet rays, and high humidity.

Anchor wedge clamp, as well as other subtypes of these products, are attached to the transmission line supports using hooks and brackets. For reliable fixation of the wire in the bracket, special wedge-shaped inserts with teeth are used. These structural elements are designed to self-tighten the mounted wires. During installation, the wire moves to the narrowest point of the clamp, after which the teeth are jammed and the cable remains securely fixed to the support.
